January 2024 - Nakia "Kiki" Thomas is the recipient of this month's Phoenix Appreciation Award.

Kiki's journey with Phoenix Labor Group is a testament to hard work and dedication. Starting as a helper five years ago, he has consistently exceeded expectations, resulting in five promotions during his tenure.

Kiki is not only a skilled craftsman but also a highly respected and valued member working at Signet Shipbuilding & Repair in Pascagoula, MS. Micah Cox, Superintendent of New Construction, praised Kiki's exemplary work ethic and proficiency. "Kiki is now in charge of our tool room, and I've never seen a tool room as well-organized or managed with such meticulous care. He meticulously records and ensures the return of every tool, a level of responsibility rarely seen."

Mr. Cox went on to say that he doesn't know anyone in the shipyard with a better work ethic than Kiki."

Phoenix Labor Group is incredibly proud to have Keke on our team. His dedication and commitment serve as an inspiration to all our employees. We strive to provide opportunities for growth and development for all our workers, and Kiki's success exemplifies the potential for advancement within our company. When we asked Kiki why his fellow shipyard workers admire him so much, he humbly replied. "I take pride in everything I do. I understand people have good days and bad days, but I always try and keep on a smile." He added, "My faith also helps me a great deal. I was blessed with an opportunity and I am not going to let God down.

Congratulations, Kiki!
